Seaton is a small friendly town situated by the sea on the Jurassic coastline, overlooking the spectacular Lyme Bay! It has a wide pebble beach, with a long flat esplanade which at the eastern end leads to the pretty harbour of Axmouth at the mouth of the River Axe. Rock pools can be explored at low tide at the western end of the beach where the towering white chalk cliffs meet the red sand cliffs.
Seaton is ideally situated for coastal and countryside walks. However, if you wish to explore further then there are Regular bus services to Exeter, Sidmouth, Lyme Regis, Weymouth and the surrounding towns and villages.
During peak season you can hire paddle boards and canoes - paddle board lessons are also available.
Park run is every Saturday with a difference - you get the opportunity to run on our pebble beach and along our prom!
The Gym is open to non members if you feel the need to flex your muscles or take part in one of the many classes.
From Southland Cottage the walk to the town and beach is approximately 10 minutes, while the pretty fishing village of Beer can be reached following a pleasant 25 minute walk along the stunning cliff footpath.
Seaton has several pubs and a variety of restaurants all within a 10-15 minute walk. Slightly further afield, the surrounding villages of Beer, Colyford, Colyton, Branscombe and Axmouth also offer a number of pubs with restaurants.
Seaton provides a good variety of shops, ranging from gift shops, a bank, Post Office to chemists. There is also two supermarkets and a number of smaller food stores including a butcher and a bakers both selling local produce. For those of you wishing to taste the traditional British Seaside lunch, there is also a selection of fish and chip shops selling locally caught seafood.
